List of new traffic fines in Saudi Arabia in 2022

Saudi Arabian traffic re-frames the list of traffic violations and fines this year. The violation fine categorizes are divided in eight different segments. These new traffic violation categorize are as follow.

Category 1: SR 20,000 to SR 60,000

This category is newly launched by Saudi government. In this violation category traffic lawbreaker will be fined Saudi Riyal 20,000 to Saudi Riyal 60,000. Moreover, offender will also get 24 traffic violation points.

1. SR 20,000 fine for drifting for the first time.
2. SR 20,000 fine for drifting for the second time.
3. SR 20,000 fine for drifting for the third time.

2. Category 2: SR 5,000 to SR 10,000

Saudi government fined Saudi Riyal 5,000 to Saudi Riyal 10,000 on the traffic lawbreaker in 2020 in this category 2. The following offences are enlisted in this category.

1. Driving vehicle after using alcohol or drugs. Moreover, this offence also imposes 24 traffic violation points.
2. Crossing or passing a valley during the flood.
3. Once the animal owner do not place their domestic animals away from the roadside.
4. Doing road works without bringing notice in the concerned authorities.
5. Camouflage or altering the chassis number of the car or vehicle.

3. Category 3: SR 3,000 to SR 6,000

This traffic violations category impose Saudi Riyal 3,000 to Saudi Riyal 6,000 on offender. This category covers the followings traffic violations.

1. If driver do not stop his vehicle while the red traffic light is on.
2. Not fully stop at the stop signal light.
3. Going out for a vehicle race on the public and crowded roads.
4. Installation of equipment and lights those are used in official and emergency vehicles.
5. Overtaking the school bus while that stopped to pick or drop the students. Moreover, this violation also imposes 4 traffic violation points on offender.
6. Damaging or tampering traffic regulation signs or signals.
7. Using or practicing the use of unauthorized devices or equipment inside the vehicle.
8. Pasting logos or posters conflicting to public morals.
9. If driver drive opposite direction of the road. Moreover, it also imposes 12 traffic violation points on offender.

4. Category 4: SR 1,000 to SR 2,000

The range of fine imposed on the offender that violates this category traffic rules. This category fined Saudi Riyal 1,000 to Saudi Riyal 2,000. The violation conditions are as follow.

1. Stopping or parking vehicle on the railway tracks, moreover, it also imposes 6 traffic violation points on offender.
2. Transportation of more than permitted numbers of passenger in vehicle.
3. If driver do not obey the road limits marked on the lanes. Similarly, or driving in the yellow lane.
4. If driver is driving the vehicle without number plate or tampered or forage number plate.
5. Parking or leaving car on the public passage or road.
6. Do not provide or show the Istimara and Iqama on request.
7. If driver overtake vehicles in curves and uphill(S).
8. Fail to export vehicle due or given time.
9. If motorcycle rider do not wear helmet while riding, moreover, it also imposes 2 traffic violation points.
10. Pedestrians crossing or passing the road from other places instead of assigned area.

5. Category 5: SR 500 to SR 900

This category of traffic rules violation fined Saudi Riyal 500 to Saudi Riyal 900 on traffic lawbreaker. The conditions are as follow.

1. If driver is driving the car or vehicle without valid driving license.
2. Exceeding or crossing the given speed limit by more than 25 km/hour.
3. Ringing or using siren of emergency vehicles without any need.
4. Breaching the car tinting regulation.
5. Staging in high-speed among the vehicles and it also impose 8 traffic violation points.
6. Do not stop at the traffic signal contain the sign driving priority ahead.
7. If driver do not use headlight at night or bad weather while driving.
8. In case driver does not obey the traffic police manual signals. Moreover, it also imposes 8 traffic violation points.
9. Endangering the lives of the people by driving a car without breaks or out of order breaks.
10. If driver drives his car without headlight while driving in tunnel.
11. Using cell phone while driving a vehicle and it also imposes 2 traffic violation points.
12. Driving and loading truck without given safety measures. Moreover, carrying load without covering and properly tying and it also imposes 4 traffic violation points on offender.

6. Category 6: SR 300 to SR 500

This category imposes Saudi Riyal 300 to Saudi Riyal 500 on violation of the following traffic rules.

1. Crossing the speed limit of the vehicle not more than 25 km/hour.
2. Crossing the official check post with the speed of more than 25 km/hour. Moreover, it also imposes 4 traffic violation points on offender.
3. Crossing the road lanes from the points from where it is not allowed. It also imposes 4 traffic violation points.
4. Commit unlawful change to a vehicle’s body and it also penalty 4 traffic violation points.
5. If a driver drives a vehicle that pollutes the surrounding environment.
6. Not obeying the traffic rules, regulations and instruction while driving. Moreover, it also penalty 6 traffic violation points on offender.
7. Using a vehicle for illegal or unlicensed works.
8. Seating passengers in vehicles in places where not allowed.
9. Placing objects or things on public roads endangers people safety.
10. Unnecessary and sudden use of brakes.
11. Not allowing emergency or VIP vehicles movement.
12. Using expired driving license while driving in Saudi Arabia.
13. Stopping or slowing down the pace of traffic that create problem in smooth traffic flow.
14. Parking or leaving the vehicle on a slope without pulling handbrake.

7. Category 7: SR 100 to SR 300

This category of traffic violation rules impose Saudi Riyal 100 to Saudi Riyal 300 in the following conditions.

1. Nose picking during driving the vehicle.
2. Not equipping trailers according to rules and regulations.
3. Driving car or vehicle without Fahas.
4. Not keeping the safe and suggested distance between two vehicles.
5. Braking traffic rule by using the strong headlights.
6. Parking the vehicle in public area or road without safety measures.
7. Creating bars inside the car that creates hurdle in driver vision.
8. Driving any vehicle without the valid Istimara.
9. Driving the car or any vehicle without the legal transformation of ownership.
10. Not using the seatbelt while driving and it also imposes 2 traffic violation points.
11. If vehicle does not have any seat safety measures for kids.
12. Vehicle without the proper horn.
13. If driver does not use indicator while changing his lane.
14. Reversing a vehicle on a highway for more than 20 meters.

8. Category 8: SR 100 to SR 150

This category fine ratio is minimum in Saudi Arabia. According to this category, it imposes minimum 100 Saudi Riyal in the following circumstances.

1. Throwing any object or thing from the vehicle while it is moving.
2. Getting off or getting into the car while it is moving.
3. Pedestrian’s not obeying the signal place for them.
4. Parking or stopping the vehicle where it is not allowed.
5. Driving the vehicle without the valid and specified insurance.
6. Leaving or parking the vehicle with the engine running.
